Firestone Capital Group was established by Marcel Opperman in 2020. Marcel had the vision of providing individuals, professionals and businesses the comfort of an all-in-one service centre, that looks after all facets of any clients financial portfolio. Whether an individual or a business, we have perfectly aligned each department to offer professional and advice driven solutions. These areas include insurance, investments, accounting, tax and legal matters.


We are an independent advice-based practice, which means that advice comes first and that we are not tied to any specific product provider. This allows us to offer objective independent advice. We utilise world-class financial planning solutions that allow our excellent financial planning specialists to provide our clients with optimal solutions. MARCEL OPPERMAN

FOUNDER AND CEO

Marcel founded Firestone Capital Group in 2020 and has been involved in the financial services industry in roles such as estate planner, financial planning educator and professional financial planner, for more than 7 years.


He loves to empower people through education and assisting them in realising their strengths. He always refers to his occupation as the firemen and police officer of the financial services sector, by protecting individuals and companies from incurring financial ruin.


Marcel holds a BCom degree in Business Management and is currently working towards his distinction in becoming a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).


Marcel is your typical sport’s guy and enjoys sports such as rugby, cricket, golf and football. He loves to travel and has a big passion for music and DJ’s on the odd occasion, believe it or not.


In his down time Marcel enjoys playing golf and tennis, goes on hiking trips and reads a book or two.

ZELNIA WRIGHT

OFFICE MANAGER

Zelnia has been part of the Firestone Capital Group team since day 1. She has over 3 years’ experience in the financial services industry. She is responsible for all the administration and management of day-to-day activities of our business and has a strong client focus.


She is passionate about delivering an efficient service to our clients and ensures all processes are correctly followed.


Zelnia is an integral part of Firestone Capital Group and clients always compliment her on her friendliness and willingness in assisting them with the utmost professional service they require.


When she is not running this tight ship, she enjoys travelling, has a huge passion for baking and enjoys good food with a glass of red wine.

Charl NEL

LEGAL COUNCIL

Charl is an admitted attorney who completed his LLB degree with University of the Free State in 2017. Before joining the exceptional team at Firestone Capital Group, Charl practiced at a reputable firm in Pretoria where he gained experience in a variety of legal matters and became well versed in the workings and procedure of the Magistrate’s, Regional and High Courts in and around Gauteng.

Focused on client satisfaction, he is committed to ensuring that all services are provided with the necessary skill, care and diligence required. 

You can be assured that your interests are being furthered in the hands of a qualified and resolute legal professional.

Charl is an avid Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, which has taught him to stay calm under pressure and to seek comfort in the seemingly uncomfortable. 

After hours you may find him talking a walk with his K9 companion, spending time with family and enjoying the sights of our beautiful country.

HENK BOTHA

TAX & ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

Henk started his working career working abroad as a deckhand in 1998 on one of a very wealthy man’s private super yacht after leaving school. He then joined the family business where exposure to all aspects of business was afforded to him while he also completed the Management Development Programme at School of Business Leadership at Unisa in 2001.


Henk broadened his career by joining the auditing field while he completed his qualification and moved to the Financial Management field after 8 years. He gained valuable expertise in financial management, team leadership, internal controls and Corporate governance while auditing a large number of clients varying in all sized in a broad spectrum of industry.


He joined the Legal fraternity in 2010 as a practice and financial manager and part of the Executive Committee, to internationally renounced Law firms and left in 2017 to start his own Tax Practitioner, Payroll and Accounting Practice, where he founded The Financial Manager (Pty) Ltd.


To further broaden the financial offering to our clients, Henk joined our practice as a Financial Advisor as well as an accounting and tax specialist to bridge the gap between financial planning, tax planning and accounting.


Henk is a family man and has four beautiful children. In Henk’s spare time he enjoys playing squash and having a nice braai over the weekends with his family.
